Integral Health springs from an inner source to reveal itself in the body and in all the parts of the being. In this approach, SAIIIHR is different from all other centres practising complementary or alternate or a mix of different therapies.
The vision of Integral Health goes far beyond any system or combination of systems to relieve suffering. It looks behind human suffering to its root cause: a constitutional ignorance, unconsciousness and falsehood that holds human nature in its grip. So long as this root is not changed, the sap of life will always be mixed with poison and our most glorious victories turn unexpectedly into defeats. This is what the triumphant march of science, more so medical science, is experiencing today.
SAIIIHR and its ideal of Integral Health are based on the all-encompassing vision of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. It provides a new direction towards the future. This new direction that is truly holistic and powerful can provide a radical breakthrough out of the impasse of disease – recovery – disease – death in which every human being is helplessly caught.
Illness
Illness, in this view, is an indicator of the imperfection of our body, mind and life-force to keep pace with the general rhythms of the universe and our soul. It is therefore not enough to only treat the symptoms or the immediate material cause behind them. It is also needed to understand the meaning of the illness and use the information it provides for growth a towards greater perfection.
The way
This becomes possible if we can step out of the small circle of the ego-bound self-identity, riddled with hopes and fears and step into the deeper soul-consciousness that is full of a luminous wisdom and calm strength. By a progressive awakening of the knowledge and powers of our inner being, we can actually arrive at a true and lasting cure. Though all methods of healing have their utility, we need not become helplessly dependent on them as we can cure ourselves.

The healer
An integral healer is a facilitator for opening this hidden door of the soul. He/she utilises illness as a means for awakening the latent soul powers, using any system or method of healing. But the healer knows these methods to be temporary devices. In the healer’s heart is kept an unwavering goodwill towards all and a faith in the power of Grace that not only heals but also guides us through all crises including death. The healer always keeps a greater vision of the beyond, a light that looks behind appearances and sees the play of forces that help or hinder the human journey. The integral healer hopes and aspires to become a positive force, a conscious channel and flawless instrument for God’s will in humanity. This is not done in a spirit of personal aggrandisement for selfish ends, but rather in a spirit of offering to the All-wise and All-powerful who alone can heal. The healer is also aware of his/her own limitations and constantly strives to overcome them.
